Brother Rich Flynn ’67 Writes:
“The roof of the Kingdom is made of one-half to one-and-a-half inch thick slates donated for the original construction in 1932 by an alumnus who owned a slate yard in Altoona. It was shipped to State College on board a special train. It has made the house an architectural landmark for many years because of its ‘rustic’ style. It should last about 400 years with normal maintenance of the clips that fasten the tiles to the roof decking of the house. It can stand almost everything.”
