Chi Phi Active Philanthropy

 

Service to others is one of the core purposes of Chi Phi Fraternity. 

While the National Philanthropy of the Fraternity is the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, here are some of the local and recent Philanthropy events which the chapter have participated with and our brothers efforts:

  • Cornhole Tournament:
    • Chi Phi paired with Acacia, Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Delta, Gamma Phi Beta, and Zeta Tau Alpha for philanthropy event
    • People went to Acacia’s chapter house to participate in a cornhole tournament – people played in 2v2 cornhole games, and over 100 people played in the tournament;
    • The winners received a $20 Chipotle gift card
    • The philanthropy event also featured a cookout by Acacia’s house chef – hamburgers and hot dogs were served, while great weather accommodated the event
    • Total raised: $2616 among various organizations
  • Hockey Event
    • 8 organizations consisting of fraternities and sororities raised money for philanthropy – Fraternities competed in a 3v3 hockey tournament to raise money; Sigma Phi Epsilon won the tournament and received $100 for their philanthropy
    • Chi Phi paired with Delta Gamma sorority to jointly fundraise prior to the event – fundraising efforts consisted of selling tickets for admission to attend the event
    • $1404 raised by the 8 different organizations
  • Casino night
    • Philanthropy event hosted at the chapter house in the large and small club rooms on the first floor; Chi Phi paired with the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority;
    • Multiple tables were set up with games including blackjack, roulette, and poker; People came out to play card games and enjoyed pizza from Gumby’s
    • $3200 raised in total by Chi Phi and Phi Sigma Sigma

Chi Phi promotes genuine Loyalty, Integrity, Honesty and above all else — True Brotherhood. Our young men still participate in philanthropic activities that engage them with the university and the community, and our Alumni certainly don’t forget about the men, as they continue to support Alpha Delta with contributions to our annual fund.
